Zane we need some new Punkin pics, how is she with Peepers?

I will have to take more than I have been, She and Peepers are buddies and play all the time as well as sleep together when Punkin is not sleeping with the dog.

Ok, I have an interview Friday for another job. Sterilizing surgical instruments at the hospital. Pays quite well and is full time during the 4-6 month training period. Then goes to part time. Which, if it works out with this medical transcription gig would be quite nice. I also have an invite to test for a medical transcription job. Lots of things going on, but the child care thing that I got hired for seems wishy washy and Albertsons Manager is really ticking me of with tons of short little shifts that hardly pay my gas to get to work. What I REALLY want is to do the sterilizing job and the med transcription. So wish me LUCK!:D

What "hook"? Do you have a freezer room? And what is up with not being able to lift 95 pounds, I thought you were a big strong old guy :p I shot a deer once, it was around 120 pounds, I had one heck of a time dragging it into a pick up. I was worried I was not going to be able to. Dead weight is hard to deal with. The funny thing is I have a 70 pound pull on my bow, you would think I could lift 120 but it is different when it is limp dead weight. I had no carpet to roll it up in which always makes moving bodies easier.

Interview went quite well I thought. Thanks for all the luck wishes! I was interviewed by a team of 4 people. That was a bit daunting. But they seem like nice folks. Quite a bit more to sterlizing surgical instruments then I thought there would be. I guess it's quite a stressful job at times.

Glad the interview went well paula. As far as sterilizing instruments, yes, it's not that straightforward. Many factors to consider and remember, EVERYTHING has to be documented ;-)a

What Deeds said, and if you have a rush for any reason and the surgical suites are running low on sterile equipment.

When I was working OB at George AFB we had 10 babies in one shift, only 4 delivery packs. We were literally shoving packs through the door between delivery and the sterilizing room, cleaning and sterilizing around the clock on that shift. Toward the end, we had packs coming straight from the sterilizer into delivery, still hot, and I do mean hot to the touch. Of course things were cool quickly after unwrapping and setting up for the next delivery.

I had the dubious honor of sterilizing that day, as I was quite pregnant and could not work delivery. One tends to physically push when telling a mom to push, and that wasn't a good thing for me to be doing at the time. Sorry if that is TMI, guys, but hey, it is what it is.;)

When both sterilizers were full and the new packs were waiting, I'd be in the nursery, taking temps, measuring, feeding, etc. I was exhausted at the end of that shift. We even ran out of beds for the new moms on our ward and had to take up a couple rooms on the regular ward. There was a door between the two so not a big thing, just unusual.

We never did figure out what had happened 9 months prior to cause all those babies to come at once.

Do you really need an explanation? I'm guessing a little 'hanky panky' was going on. :p

Yeah, that's what the people that interviewed me said. That there are times when the ER/OR have a lot of unscheduled things happening and there are just not enough packs to cover it. So they have to be quick and of course get it RIGHT with the sterilizing.

Just heard about a shooting in the hotel/casino where we stay when we're in Reno. They had a big biker convention in town, and apparently the Hell's Angels got into a brouhaha with another biker gang called the Vagos. Ironically, the actual shooting took place in exactly the place in the Casino where Lois always plays. The fight started in the Trader Dick's Bar, and spilled out onto the casino floor. Lois' favorite machine in right there at the entrance to the bar. Scary.

There was a similar shooting in 2002 at the Harrah's Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. We had been there just the week before, and haven't been back since My concerns about Laughlin had more to do with the town than an isolated incident involving bikers. I have no such concerns about going back to Reno when the opportunity arises.

Scary Tom. Then again there probably isn't a street corner in Vegas, or many places in the cities we visit, that haven't had someone killed or otherwise victimized. It is just of a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time sometimes. Grant it I just drove through Vegas on my way to see Cat but my impression was that place is a nasty depressing pit.
