Nope. They're about 450 miles apart. I drove from Reno to Las Vegas in one day once. Even through I've covered more distance in a single day many times, that still felt like the longest drive ever. There's practically nothing between the two cities to break the monotony. It's just 450 miles of mountains and sand...

We've made that trip a couple times, and Lonnie has pretty much nailed it. The trip is mind-numbingly boring.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

Hi All :D

Cute kitty shots.

Chief, keep your eyes open in those places of ill repute. :p
When we were in Tijuana for the day close to 10 years back, the chief of police was murdered, but we never heard until we were leaving.

Becky, those sculptures your nephew makes look great. :)

Becky, your nephew is quite talented!

Reno vs Las Vegas? I'll take Reno, but I wish they would work a little on cleaning downtown up a bit. Apparently the Hells Angel that was killed, was the head of the San Jose Chapter.

First rain (light sprinkles actually) of the season this morning. Not good for the grapes waiting to be harvested - can cause bunch mold.

I'd also heard about the San Jose connection. We rarely go to downtown Reno. Mostly we hang out at the casinos in Sparks and south of downtown.

Crissa, I love the cat photos. I had no idea that Tspin had a reddish color to his fur in spots. He turned into an absolutely gorgeous cat. And Robbie is adorable.

I have been to Mesquite if that counts for anything! They sell Cat's stash there.

Of COURSE that counts for something!

Leyla and her buddy...

Ok, did Leyla get smaller, or has Punki really grown that much??!

short5 wrote in post #13158048 (external link)
 Kitties are fun. Punkin is a terror all day then crashes hard all evening then wakes up and tears about all night. So Leyla wakes to a sweet sleeping cuddly kitten, goes to work and I get the cranial attack stuff for a few hours and pick up the stuff she likes to knock over all day just to see me pick it up. Then Leyla returns and sweet tired kitty rides around in the bottom of her shirt that she turns up into a pouch, plays gently, and snoozes. Leyla goes to sleep and the kitten goes back to attacking my feet and the dog's tail

LOL! Love it.
We are almost to the point of locking Phantom out of our room at night. He is RUTHLESS in the middle of the night, and thinks if he is awake, everyone should be awake. Even if he's cuddly, his muffin-making is torture.

short5 wrote in post #13158098 (external link)
Punkin learned the hard way that the top to the kitchen trash is a trap door that falls open when you climb on it:lol:

HAHAHA! She almost did that here too. I was watching, waiting for her to fall in, and she jumped over it.

Wade's family lives in that area, and we've made the trek across the barren Nevada desert many times. It's torturous. Never have seen an alien either.

Came up to the barn today to find the farm owner, and our farrier who lives on the property, working on my horse's foot. They saw him lame in the field, went to check on him, and hadn't called yet. Turns out it was an abscess which is common but hurts until it blows. They got it out just as we showed up :)

We pulled Marq out for a soak and he will be fine but looks pretty sore here.
