I have a cousin who I am so very close to, she has a little kitten named Miles. She has had cats her whole life, and she gets them de-clawed. It just kills me. He is scheduled for this week.

GAH! Look up one of those nast animal rights videos about declawing and send it to her. Explain she is cutting their fingers off.

I've never done it, and never would.

I'm not sure why people get pets, then decide they have to maim them in order to turn it into somethingthey were never intended to be. (That includes a lot of the 'modifications' people make to certain breeds of pooches.)

I'm going to bed. I'll be up a couple times with Dollie tonight, I'm sure.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

A lot of people do it just not realizing what they are doing and think they are just removing the nails(which still is not great). There are some education videos out there about it.

Came up to the barn today to find the farm owner, and our farrier who lives on the property, working on my horse's foot. They saw him lame in the field, went to check on him, and hadn't called yet. Turns out it was an abscess which is common but hurts until it blows. They got it out just as we showed up

We pulled Marq out for a soak and he will be fine but looks pretty sore here.

Ouch!

CHIEF good to here Dolly is fighting whatever it is that is ailing her.

All the kittens are looking great.

Thank you all for the comments on my nephew's sculptures. I really want the herons in flight. Someday I will win the lotto and show up at his shop with a panel truck for him to fill up.:D

Fall came in right on schedule with brisk cloudy weekend. We started some winterizing, bringing in the house plants, changing out the garland on the rail boxes and the wreath swag. And of course watching football, Illinois is having some tense games but 4-0. The Bears and our HS team are totally different stories.

Was a good weekend for comfort food. Made up Cat's Big-O-Mess last night. Yummy.

Off to have my toes done and pick up some stuff for my mama at Costco.

I too am totally against this. People figure it is easier than training their cats and/or supplying them with alternatives to scratching their belongings. Though I do know a couple indoor only cats that had this done, and they don't seem to be bothered that much. That being said, I am not a fan of docking like Jasper had done, even though they do it on day 2 of their lives when the tail is still a soft cartilage.
