:3 days of standing, talking, and climbing step ladders to make sure everything was counted and keyed, is done for another year. It also leaves one exhausted, sore especially the feet and back, and with very little voice. I have a new found respect for teachers who have to talk all day. But we're done...onward to starting/finishing month-end.

Dinner tonight was a huge success. Our ham from the last pig was perfection, love having country butcher processed cuts without all the extra water etc. added from mass production. Mom's green beans simmered with the hock along with an onion is the best. And for added flavor, stick the potatoes into the mix to cook too. Yum, yum.

Glad you got through it at work.

Congrats on the good pig dinner.

As some of you may know I am not a great fox fan, but this clip is wonderful.

Awwww, you can't dislike them all. They just do what they are made to. That's a great clip. I saw a beautiful fox today in the park behind our house.

Ok, my first try at time-lapse...

I didn't have a programmable shutter release, so it was done manually...

Nice!

Two significant happenings tonight:

1. We watched half of the movie, Water for Elephants. Lois got so upset with the animal cruelty, she made me turn it off. I guess I'll come back after she goes to bed and watch the rest.

2. McRib sandwich for supper. Not really sure what I ate, but it appeared to be some sort of meat-like substance on a roll with pickles and (my guess) barbecue sauce. Strange.

Sorry about the movie, even more sorry about the dinner, gak. Don't they press a meat product into a riged fake little rack 'o ribs thingy? That is so wrong. I have the ocassional McDeath but I can't do the McRibs.

We actually ate healthy. We went to the spooky Korean market where they have really good, fresh food, and picked up shrimp, baby bock choy, and asparagus and did some stir fry dishes.

I heard something on the radio very recently that said the McRib's base ingredient is styrofoam. Yum!

Then again, since I mostly listen to the comedy channels on XM Radio, maybe that report wasn't very trustworthy...

Y'know, there's a McDonald's at the truck stop on the other side of the highway from this hotel... And, I am feeling a little hungry right now.

Nice example of yellow journalism! They fail to emphasize the point that the "styrofoam" ingredient is actually nothing more than a bleaching agent used in almost all white flour. Don't get me wrong....I'm not saying the McRib is healthy or even tastes good, but the article leaves you thinking there are literally hunks of styrofoam in the sandwich. There is enough unnecessary crap in the sandwich that just reading the ingredients without the embellishment would be enough to turn off most consumers.
