That method has been around awhile. Places now make metal reusable beer can shaped things that have a base so they stand well. I have thought about it but could never get past the idea of cooking a painted beer can inside the bird. Cans are pretty thin and who knows what they are painted with or what it releases when heated.

I have one of those things. It's shaped roughly like a volcano with a space in the middle for the can.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Had a great time last night. The fondue was fantastic. Lots of good eats. We ended up partying until 4:30 last night, drinking and dancing the night away. Was still a little unstable on my feet when I got up at 9:00. :p

We had 3 couples stay last night, and they just left after filling them up with breakfast and coffees.

I think this will be a good day to watch a movie or two. ;)

Jim, it has been so mild this winter, last year was the hardest winter in living memory and this year it is almost warm. There is something very strange going on.

Same here, last winter was the coldest since 1979, and this year we got lots of snow early, but for the last while and even forecast for the next week or so, exceptionally warm. No green grass though. :)

I use one of those when smoking a chicken too. Works great.

Jim, about the time you ended your party I was starting the new day, no headache, no "ugh", enjoyed my coffee, my Nook, and Aiden who after waking up came out and laid down beside me and fell asleep again. Mornings like this are priceless.:D

I already had a couple. ;)
I actually feel remarkably well. Especially considering all the shooters I drank.

Given you are an hour ahead, you likely were up then.
Sounds like a nice morning, with the wee grandson around. :)

It smells so amazing, put some garlic and onion powder, sage, cayenne and smoked paprika in the rub with salt and pepper. Rub and a little butter went into the beer as well. It's been on the grill abut an hour and a half, going to bring it in to stand for a while before we eat.

Am watching a show and they are talking about a house boat on the willamette river in OR. When I see the name I hear will-am-ett, while discussing it the announcer said will-aahmmm-et. Anyone know which it is?

It's the name of my alma mater, too. And the river runs right through my town. It's the first one (at least how I think you'd pronounce the first one ). The emphasis is on the second syllable. Lots of people, not from here, say will uh mett.

EDIT: Play the recordings here: http://www.forvo.com/word/willamette/ (external link) They're correct (except the siren in the third one!)
