Must be a scam!

Canon EF 200mm f2 L IS USM Lens for 1300.00 dollars.

I contacted the the person by ebay, and they wanted me to check out outside of Ebay. Needless to say I didn't follow through.

Check this auction out on Ebay.

Thoughts?

The proper thing to do in a case like that is hit "report item", and report it to eBay, so that they'll take it down.

Yeah, why would a jewelry store suddenly decide to sell a high-end lens like that?

That same account has a pair of 300mm f/2.8L IS and 400mm f/2.8L IS lenses for sell also.

I'm thinking like you that those items are very fishy.

If real, you're right, steals of the year if not century.

The Ebay listing has been removed!

Anyhow,

Why would someone sell a 5,000 dollar lens for 1300.00 unless it is stolen or plans to collect the money from a bunch of people, but not send anything in return.

IMHO, this person is feeding on the desires of photographers, and sending nothing back. Think about it, if 100 people sent this guy 1300 dolloars, it would add up to be 130,000.00. A fairly sizeable sum.

Had this auction gone through Ebay and Paypal, it was my intention to buy and re-sell it for a profit.

David
