Excellent. I blew a couple of rolls of 220 Fuji 160S in S.F. and have a couple to share.

Allen & Ed should start a photography tour business - we were everywhere once and some places twice! Canon, beer, food, babes, and POTN... lol.

I can only imagine the 3 of you taking on the city. I bet it was the best tour of the city with a whole lot in common to share.

We didn't go where all the tourist go thats for sure. I mean the world doesn't need another bean photo. But I'm sure Ed and Hank both got a few thing a lot more meaningful.

Had a beef sammy from Als on Taylor St for lunch and some deepdish pie at Lous for dinner....

Allen already sent me his scores so why not send them to me each week that way we don't have that fall through the cracks by having to keep track. If I am on vacation or something I will hand it off. Does that work for everyone?

Thanks for participating! Let's see what happens this week.

I hate it when I like every image and have to rank them 1-2-3. Nevertheless:
Each one has attributes that I find very appealing and the best part are the huge differences between each photo. I'd like to see some other people entering images that aren't safe, such as they are in LMSYS, but maybe it just needs a few weeks more or just to hang on until the weather starts to change and people aren't so busy. At least there'll be 4 or 5 each week!

That seems vaguely familiar...can I use that as my critique?

BTW - I would VERY MUCH appreciate comments on my image from last week. Despite the fact that I like it very very much, please do not withhold constructive criticism. Just remember, as you constructively critique the image, that it was shot from the hip with all settings and hyperfocal distance in place. So it's a street shot. Other than that, tear it up. Thanks.

Hank you had my fav of the week. For me I love the two warm globes and the warm piece behind the subject balanced against the cool of the subject and the reflection of the subject in glass. The reflection makes it for me as well as the space around the subject as well as the jester of the piece on the wall in relationship to the subject. Love the way that jester leads the eye to the subject. Also the line formed by hte shadow not only re-enforces that also creates a strong triangular composition with the line formed by the subjects leg to his face up ending at the window frame back down to the bottom of the window frame back to the subjects leg. Smoke'n image Hank... Thats my thoughts.

Hank I know you're a big Winogrand fan. Check out about 1:53 minutes in..I totally agree... Got in a big argument with someone about this very thing a few years back.

Thanks Allen! That weird critter on the wall kind of doing the "ta-daaaa" thing was one of those pleasant surprises that made the image for me after I got home downloaded my shots for the day. After we sat down for a couple of beers, remember I showed that one to you and Ed and said "that's my shot for the day?" Still my favorite.

Here or there I had to add your comment Hank. Hope you don't mind it sounded right to my ear and worth repeating.

Hank I am not as grounded in street as the both of you are. While the subject is interesting to many (I am not a bar fan but that's not the point) the empty blackness of the bar interior took a common scene to my eye and pushed it into the void. I think had I been able to see a little bit of detail in the rest of the bar (at the lowest light levels) it would add a little more story to the story. I'm not making a huge connection with why this person is important to me the viewer. While the reflection is nice the banner behind him adds more weight to that side of the frame while the left gets sparser heading into the void. The light on the subject is excellent and the visible elements of the subject and bar work well together. Interesting use of framing leaving two sides open and two sides closed by the building. Some more observations. No street photograph is without value. And this image captures a moment in time as you saw it. The black of the bar interior does a splendid job in isolating the subject elements.

Mind you I have the same problem Hank does and that is each image is completely unique. In terms of street I liked Allens the best. There is a nice story line framed really well. Affection is a great emotional draw and the dangling license plate and people walking add color.

Jason I want to spend a little more time with your image before I comment.
