So funny...for me, it's lights. I'm planning on getting finally a 580ii with a stand and umbrella and then a single strobe with battery pack, it too with an umbrella and then a softbox and beauty dish, n' stuff. I'm hoping I can keep this under 2 grand, but I have my doubts.

This will open a whole new world of shooting for me. I already use reflectors, white boards, and black cutter boards with my current makeshift lighting, but now it's time to step up the game.

Gulp!

I went the cheap strobist path, and I do mean cheap.

Yongnuo YN-465 Speedlite: $72 new and shipped
Budget strobist stands with umbrellas: $60 new and shipped
Yongnuo RF-602 trigger and 2 receivers: $55 new and shipped
Rechargeable batteries w/chargers:
CR2x2, AAx16 and AAAx8: around $60 new and shipped

I already owned a 430EX and reflectors.

I like to toy with this setup, but have yet to really seriously use it. I'd rather just bounce a flash or get creative (re: lazy) with what I got, but at least I got a rudimentary multi-strobe setup.

I'm sure you'll excell with your future lighting setup!

Yeah, that's the internal struggle...how deep do I go? Our pal here, MDJAK, is a neighbor (thankfully not too close) and he was super kind in loaning me his strobe setup and DVD tutorial called "OneLight Workshop". It's an excellent instruction as to how to get started and how things sorta work.

With the 7D, I might as well enjoy its capacity to trigger remotely the 580ex ii, so that's a given with the idea too that it will be put to task sometimes onboard the camera and be my super portable light. The strobe...I might aim for used equipment. I've been dwelling in the studio lighting forum here and there is a massive mountain of information to help, or in my case, get lost in. HELP!!!!!

Well, I'll figure this all out in all good time. I just need the lighting by tomorrow.

I'll have the scores up shortly. I am going to be a bit busy the next 2 months. May not be able to participate each week. I am working on an online portfolio. Cheers.

Found this one too. :-)

It might be worth putting links on the first page of the exhibition entry page to these two pages.

Unless they were there and I missed them?
