I really love the look of this boys face and his expression but unfortunately because of where he was standing.... smoke drifted in front of him and he's hazy looking.

Is there anything out there that can help make this image crisper and clearer?

This is the best I could get with Lighroom and photoshop CS5

If anyone thinks they can help, I'll post a link to the RAW file....

I'll give it a shot - post a link. The subject's face, and especially eyes, look like missed focus. I will try a couple of different R-L deconvolution techniques on the raw and see if they get anywhere.

If it makes you feel any better, I sort of like the somewhat stylized treatment you've given the image - the subject is captured in a way that lends itself to the look you've given the image.

Wow!! Didn't think anyone would post this quick!
I'm at work and don't have the RAW with me ATM... I'll upload and post when i get home.

It was smoke because he is a little blacksmith guy working with his dad. The fire pit was beside him and his dad just dipped a hot poker in the water to cool it off. Steam floated in front of his face and I was disappointed that I couldn't get the same shot after the smoke moved away. He made me and my partner a little horseshoe. So cute! Anyway you'll notice it more in the RAW file.....

I don't have mad pp skills, so I got nothin' as far as making this a sharply focussed photo, if it is even possible. I love this image though, so if it were MINE, and at the risk of bastardizing a great shot, you could always put some sort of artistic filter like these on it....

thanks sue... suppose some artistic flair could help hey? LOL....

Might try some black and whites... I do have a very large .jpg file I can upload if anyone wants to take a stab at that?

Here's the link to the very large Post-processed .jpg.... I'll still do the raw when I get home.

Try excessive sharpening, like 300%.

here are my b/w attempts.... I think the 3rd one looks clearer, the second one still looks hazy.... I dunno...

Tim, where do I find that excessive sharpening at? Photoshop or Lightroom?

Don't be so quick to judge... it's not focused on the shirt... it's a smokey haze.... I just suck at trying to fix it. I'm uploading the raw file right now. You'll be able to see what I mean.
