Finally paid a visit to Mobius Arch. Something different?

I ask "something different?" because I tried to come up with something a little different than the hundreds of Whitney / Lone Pine Peak frames that pop up when I search for Mobius Arch. After seeing so many pictures of this arch, I finally saw it for myself this weekend, even though I've been in the area many times before photographing that rather large mountain that looms over the area to the west.

What do you think?

Kurt, I like this, but who says you need something different. I like all the traditional views as well.

I wanted something different. The traditional views are beautiful, but given my cloudless conditions I didn't want to go for that since there's nothing that would make my cloudless version stand out against all the others that have been taken under more interesting weather.

VERY cool, Kurt! I can tell by the sun star you shot that with you 16-35---best sun star there is! What an excellent composition! And to put Mt. Whitney and the Pinnacles in that notch is just a brilliant touch. I'm jealous!

Thank you for your kind words! Indeed that is the tell tale sun star from the 16-35 2.8L II. It's one of the factors I considered when choosing it over the 17-40L actually. I like that lens a lot.
