Suggestion for panos: shoot with the camera in the vertical (portrait) orientation. This will require a few extra frames to cover the scene, but you'll have more wiggle room at the top and bottom when cropping so as not to end up with a long, skinny image (unless that's what you're after). I shoot for 20-30% overlap depending on the lens. Also check out PTGui. This software blows photoshop away. I have stitches full 360x180 degree panos with this software 200 images in all and it worked very well. My normal panos are 10 to 12 frames which this software knocks out no problem. Also, look into a leveling base or at least a hotshoe bulb to help level your shots. Good luck and have fun. And if you get real serious about it, check out the Nodel Ninja tripod mounts for panos. I have the Nodal Ninja 5 and it is absolutely necessary for large panos.

Straighten the horizon and then should be looking pretty good! Other than the stuff mentioned above I have nothing really to add... but if you shot it in raw you should be able to fix it easily.
