Here's something that I learned from yesterday's event. If the kids aren't happy, you might as well be pulling teeth. But you make due and continue and see if you can't pull something out of your butt. They arrived cheerful, but started bickering between each other and the smiles went out the door for the rest of the shoot. Stoic expressions for most of the time

Let me know what you guys think. C&C welcomed and appreciated!

Me too. Just wish the boy was doing what the two girls were doing, or wasn't there at all. Oh well!

I don't think the stoic expressions hurt the photos at all, personally. I really like the third one with the little girl and those big brown eyes. If you have cropping room, you could do a vertical 8x10 crop of just her and cut the boy's shirt out. I'd probably up the contrast a bit, but perhaps that was the look you were going for. Cute kids.

Thanks Babychaser and Sue.

Sue: You always have great advice and I appreciate your response. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of cropping room to work with (horribly framed when I pressed the shutter). A vertical 8x10 leaves me cropping off wrists and halves of hands. I agree entirely with the blue shirt, but I decided that a distracting blue shirt is a lesser evil than amputated body parts (it's kind of a pet peeve of mine :P )

The low contrast is my current flavor of the month. Who knows what I'll end up doing next month with my photos!

Again, thanks for the comments!
