The best thing you can do for this photo: loose the towel. The pose and lighting are okay. Though trying a diffuser or a larger one for next time will help improve the harsh shadows. Also, a touch larger on the crop to make room on the bottom would help.

Great smile you caught :)

I like this shot except for the cropping, which should be done lower so you would have less of the top sky and more of the bottom of the beach. You almost cut off her feet. The background with the waves coming in is great.

I second the towel comment... sexy women love to get dirty... or we just love it when our women are dirty.

I think the balance between natural light and flash fill is a bit off. It "Looks" like you used a flash to fill from the front and it looks pretty straight-on. I think I would drop me shutter or open up my aperture and dial-down the flash after moving it off to the side a bit more. That would cut the shadow down. Pull back a bit and the shot would be perfect.

JMHO of course. ;)

I third the towel comment......and a larger light would be best. if you dont have one then try a lil bit earlier in the day and slightly over expose the background just a hair.

Thanks for the comments guys. I did crop to close to her feet in an effort to hide the unsightly towel. But I went back and agree that a longer crop would be better.

I didn't have any modifiers with me so I just used my bare flash off camera at arms reach to the side. Not the best solution but gave me some good practice for next time.

I appreciate the criticism as I learned from them.
