Would you consider this a good deal? A 7D (purchased in Sep 2010) that was used for one vacation, a 3 year Mack Diamond warranty (accidental + liquid damage included), 7 CF cards (1x8GB, 5x1GB, 1x2GB), Elastic Softstrap, and an extra battery (LP-E6) for $1400. They initially wanted $1450, but I was able to talk it down to $1400.

I've wanted to go full frame for a while now, but this seems like a half decent deal to me. I figured I'd either go FF, or get a 7D for now until the 5DIII is released

Don't know anything about that warranty, those cards are small - even for a 2010 purchase. Is the battery the real deal? Look around on Ebay to see what 7D bodies sell for used, it's a good metric to use. To me, it seems a little on the high side given the extras aren't something I'd care much about.

If you really wanted to buy a 7d at the current prices with the warranty it would be a pretty decent deal ( except for the cards) . But if you want full frame and focus is image quality then I would suggest you a get a full frame model ( 5D II ). However if your focus is on sports and wild life you can get a 7D.

Have you looked into a Canon Refurb. Comes with a short Canon warranty. You can buy a Mack Refurb warranty, battery, large card and still have some change in your pocket.

True a refurb is used - but I have never seen anyone selling a camera that has been used and abused - always seem to have been used once.

The cheapest I can get the 7D for from Canon is $1087 + 6.25% tax + $30-50 (for a broken camera) = ~$1200 through the CLP program. The only thing I'm not sure of is how much the Mack Diamond warranty is worth

I read many negatives on that company but nothing could be worse then Best Buy and their Black Tie scam.

You can also go the Squaretrade route with the refurb, there are always coupons to knock down the warranty price from them. I got a 50% off one for putting my washing machine on a plan. :)

You can find broken cameras for ~$5+:

And I easily found many more around $5.

Mack warranties are at least transferable unlike Canon US warranties.

One Adorama sold me was $80 - http://www.adorama.com …_campaign=2point0Product1 (external link) though think it is higher coverage than needed for the 7D.

My last camera (40D) in to Canon cost me $575 for a repair of some part that they did not explain but made it all better. The Mack will hopefully take away some of that sting should I have any problems with this Canon (at least in the next 3 years).

I bought Mack warranties for a 60D and 70-200 f2.8 II...being the clown that I am, I dumped this combo over onto asphalt while it was on a tripod. Took both the body and lens to my local shop, had them shipped out and returned in 3-4 weeks - the Macks paid for themselves right there. The drop, spill warranty for 3 years was about $125-150 for the 60D and a little more for the lens. A new 7D is $1600.00. The 8G card can be used as a backup plus a second battery (is it genuine?)...sounds like a year old $1800ish package for $1400. Provided all is OK with the 7D, it sounds like you'd have a pretty good deal at $1400. Good luck.

1DM4 * 5D Mk III * 17-40L * 24-105L * 70-200L f2.8 II * 500 f4L * 50 f1.4 * 100 f2.8L IS II

That's not a diamond warranty--that's the cheap normal warranty. The diamond is closer to $200, and includes perks like several sensor cleanings each year.
