How do you get models?

So all of my friends (that are girls) have my pictures as their facebook pic and are no longer asking me to take their picture. My wife was getting a little suspicious as well of me taking their pics lol.

How do you guys get models? I love taking outdoors portraits (of girls) but this is a hobby so paying hundreds for a model would be dumb. I think just a normal female would love to get free pics and get paid but how to advertise for them?

It has been about two months of taking nothing but street photography and macro so I am jonesing for something else.

TFP - Time For Prints. You'll find models on modelmayhem and other such sites willing to do it. You take the photos, make em all nice, and give them the photos. They get samples of their modeling work, you get to take photos.

Model Mayhem has always been a good source for me. There's plenty of newbie/wanna be models on there willing to pose in exchange for a disk of photos. Just make sure you confirm your appointments so you don't get stuck waiting on someone who isn't going to show.

LOL I think the problem was more about I actually knew those girls. I don't think actual models would be a problem no matter their appearance.

On model mayhem you'll need to open an account. From there, you search through the models in your area and start sending out messages to the ones that interest you.

Models come in many forms including friends, family members, their friends and family members. Modeling or talent agencies also have new people who can't afford full scale professional photographers and likely will gladly trade talent for pix or CD's. Remember they're learning too. Make sure you provide them with a release allowing them to use the work you give them for their own promotional purposes and have them agree to do the same for you.
