I'm new to London and I'll be spending the next 5.5 weeks over here. For those that have been in London for a long time, can you suggest a list of places to go to get decent views of the city? Where are your favourite places to go and photograph the city?

Try from atop the St Paul cathedral. And stay safe in all the chaos right now.

Well I see you said this 2 weeks ago and you will be there for 5.5 weeks. I assume your doing a study abroad or something? Stay safe over there -- doubt its really that big of a threat level since your not working in the government I assume.

Make a trip up to Scotland highlands or the Lake District if you cant go that far.

My favorite views of London were around the westminster area. Walking all over that area (and im talking more than just a block) gives you some great views of the typical shots. Do the thames walk also. Camden and Covent gardens are very unique places that are pretty photographical if thats a word. Both offer a good bit of photo ops. Piccadilly Circus is an obvious one thats fun to photograph... but honestly anywhere is good in london :) enjoy your time mate!
