Hello,

What considerations do i take into account in the room where i do my photo editing on the computer. Do i use special kind of bulbs? Is there a recommended placement from where the light comes from? The room ill be working in has no windows ( no sunlight). Should i buy a desk lamp and leave the ceiling lights off? Im not a pro - i just wanna do things right....

Thanks in advance....

I use a 40wt desk lamp to the side & over the keyboard. Whatever light you use, you should use that same light when you calibrate your monitor.

Lower light levels are better. I have track lights with 4700 K lights. Also some daylight CLFs in the ceiling. Nothing should be shining on the screen.

Calibrate the monitor with the lights on as you will have them when editing. Ideally, use a calibration system that will also read the ambient light in the editing area.
