A new Lens EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II

hi
i saw today a new version for the lens EF-S 55-250mm at the canon web site
(EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS II)

what is the difference between the new and the old version ?

If it's like the other new kit lens, it's essentially exactly the same, just made slightly more cheaply to keep the profit margins up for Canon.

Turns out a gripped 7D + 622 + 580exII + 70-200 2.8 IS MK2 is BLOODY HEAVY! Who knew?!!

Except for the 18-55 III that is. It is quite a bit different from its precursor (and about time too!)

Yes, the new 55-250 IS II is almost exactly the same as the original, but with a few cosmetic differences and the manufacturing process, similar to the 18-55 IS II. However, as stated above, the 18-55 III (non-IS) is a different optic design from the 18-55 II (again, non-IS).
