The wine glass is a bit distracting, as is the out-of-focus mom (?). I often get so wrapped up in the subject that I forget to notice the background. I have to deliberately tell myself to look all around when I shoot. Quite often, just moving to the left or right will take care of the background. Using a larger aperture would also help.

She's a beautiful little girl!

Thanks!!! I often think shooting with the 100 macro and focusing on my Daughter is the way to go, and may be fine depending on what's around her... Having my wife in the background I would have probably been better off shooting with a 7-9 Aperture I imagine... Oh well.

There will be plenty of other opportunities in the near future!

I think that means you think my daughter is adorable?! I will take that and run with it, but I am partial to her... She's my one and only (beside my beautiful wife and my chocolate lab who uses his good looks and sad face to get his way :)!!!)

I just mean that you should keep all the photos! Good or bad. When I look at MY childhood pictures, none of them are any good. Thats the best part about them now!

I love the first one. The baby is in focus and it is nice seeing the mother in the background out of focus wine glass an all. The second one, photographically speaking, I don't like since nothing is in focus. That being said, don't throw it out, I just wouldn't hold on to it as a prized photo. The first though tells a nice story about the moment, I like it.

If you're not happy with them, by all means - scrap them. Only you can make that call though.

I like the images... I don't throw away family shots. Too hard to come by.
