Yea, it is who they are though.

One of the main aims of a photographer is to capture the subject's personality, and those piercings are a part of them and their personalities, so why erase that. If everybody conformed to what is "photogenic", then photos would start getting repetitive and boring.

These types of comments are depressingly moronic. A mole or small scar and someone asks "How do I clone this out?", and people FREAK! "No, its them, its who they are, why would you do that unless they asked you to?!?!"

The same people then flip out over seeing a piercing that isn't a regular ear piercing, or a tattoo.

Get over it. Its not your body, its not your choice - its not even your model. If you don't like it, suck it up, and hold back your comments - they aren't appropriate in any way, shape or form.

Your attitudes disgust me.

Thanks, actually I did no PP with these photos I took them for another purpose so they are pretty much straight out of camera. Yes, their faces could have used a little more pop. As per the piercing I never even noticed the lip ring in her lip ha ha I am so use to seeing it there.

It would be a shame to get rid of the piercing/her lobes. If the subjects didn't think the piercings/modification​s looked good on them, then they wouldn't have them in the first place.

That first shot is perfect and absolutely captures the "sister" relationship perfectly. Cloning out the piercings would be sacrilege to them, I'm sure they quite like them. Certainly not my cup o' tea, but you were asked to photograph two sisters, as they were at that moment in time, lip piercings and all. I would not clone them out.

You are entitled to your opinion too. But yours is not more valid simply because you say so. You have no business attacking others opinions. Follow your own advice and hold your own comments.

If you are expecting people to not " comment " on photos, then why are you here ? What is inappropriate is you being the thread police, chastising posters. If theres a rules violation, the moderators will handle that.

I wouldn't photoshop these shots. They put the hole in their faces and ears, so they must want it in the photo. The shots are done really well. I wouldnt change anything in particular. It seems to capture a spontaneous moment, even if it is not.

Your first part is a fair point. However, the second paragraph is the problem - people don't comment on the photo, they comment on the models. Not their poses or expressions, but the people. And if they want to do that, then I have no problem expressing my opinion of their comments which have nothing to do with photography.

I commented on the lip ring because I find it distracting. Exactly the same as saying that a tree branch or pole or person in the back ground is distracting. It has absolutely nothing to do with the girls themselves.

Alright I think all the bickering about the lip ring and piercing should stop, everyone has made their point and I take no offense to it, but out of respect for the girls and their own individuality lets leave it to rest now. Thank you

This section of here for you to critique the quality of the photographs and aptitude of the photographer, not the fashion sense of the subjects in them.

Exactly. It's sad that older people have to judge the younger generations so harshly.
