Hey guys,
I just got my 17-40L, so I went out to shoot today. I've never really made an attempt at a rural landscape like this before. As my first time, Im pretty happy with my result. But I would love some C+C. I was having a lot of trouble with the composition for a while, but with some trial and error, I think I got a decent composition.

Let me know what you guys think, as I know I have a lot to learn when it comes to landscapes and wide angle photography

I would never guess that this was someone's first effort at landscape. It's a very interesting composition and technically well done. One thing that can be difficult on wide angle shots is a level horizon ... if this was mine I'd tweak the orientation a bit ... it may be leaning slightly to the right.

Also, moving the camera higher would separate the hay bale in the left foreground from those behind it.

Well done !

deep greens and blues are the colors I choose ...

thanks for the feedback. im very anal about level horizons. i did check it and from what i can tell, it seems to be level. i agree with you about the camera being higher. the problem is that my tripod has a broken leg, so it cant extend very high. i was actually standing on top of a hay bale for a few shots but i wasnt liking the comp from where it was
