Hi guys

Been a while since I posted anything, but am catching up with editing now. Didn't see any posts from Zeltweg, so thought I'd pop a few in.

Was a good show, and I'd paid for the spotters package, which gave access to spots around the airport that the general public could not get to.

FullGALLERY HERE (external link) 89 pics in total

Other aircraft in the gallery include most of Red Bulls stable in europe, P-38, B-24, 2 x Alpha jets, Cobra, Bo-105, Stearman, F-4U Corsair all in Red bull colour scheme, plus the NL F-16 demo aircraft in a nice bright orange scheme. Royal Saudi Hawks, Turkish Stars, Breitling Jet display team, plus a few others.

Enjoy, Chris

Thanks, it was a fun time, helped by driving down the German autobahn, which happened to be unrestricted speed limit :-)

Thanks ty,

It was nice to see it in the flesh, but not that noisy. Two small engines I guess not that powerful.

Great stuff! There's some seriously old-school iron flying around, there. Really like the Hind, and that DC-6 shot is just wonderful :)

Where were you shooting from on number 6, to get an angle with the crowd like that?

Thanks guys.

For shot 6, which was mid-morning, I was across the runway from the crowd, on a small berm(hill). I stumped up for the spotters package, which gave special access to about 6 places around the airfield, transport to and from whenever you wanted it, plus a catered lunch and seperate car park just by the entrance. Well worth the 60 euros :-)

The light was an interesting problem all day, just wouldn't make up it's mind. Had blue sky, overcast, partly cloudy and at least one shower.

I'll still be there again in 2013.

Chris that Swiss Hunter brings back a few memories. I visited Switzerland on holiday a couple of times in the early 70's and remember regularly seeing Hunters flying round the mountains next to Lake Lucerne.

Thanks

@BigAl The scenery in the mountains does make for some very nice pics. Hunterfest in St Stephan is one such place, small old mil airfield, where there are a couple of Hunters plus a Vampire based, huge mountains in the background, and departures over the log cabin style houses at end of runway, love it :-)

Thanks Rivman, think the 262 has only been flying for a year or two since they finished a rebuild. Don't really know that much on it, and wasn't much info in the airshow guides either.
