I'm used to using Paypal, but I've been seeing people mention Chase Quickpay and Amazon Payments quite frequently. I know Amazon Payments allows you the option to pay with a credit card (which automatically grants you all of those wonderful CC protections)--does Chase Quickpay allow payment via CC as well?

Anyone know the fees associated with Chase Quickpay and Amazon Payments when paying by credit card? I know Paypal has a standard 2.9% + $0.30 fee when receiving non-gifted payments.

I believe Chase QuickPay is free, therefore better than PayPal. At least I remember this when I was signing up....FREE being one of their major advertising points.

There is also ING Direct Person 2 Person payment which is free.

It's just a money transfer service though, there is no buyer/seller protection.

I have ING Direct checking & savings accounts which I have been happy with and I have used the Person 2 Person payment option in the past with success.

As a buyer, it would only be enticing if I was given the option of paying with a Credit Card. That's my main question about Chase Quickpay--is it CC friendly or no? From what I could gather on their Faq, it's all done by bank accounts only, and at least one person in each transaction needs to have a chase bank account. Unless CC is an option, it's no better than Paypal Gift.

I'm mainly only interested in considering services which provide real buyer protections--namely the use of credit cards for user-to-user transactions. The info is appreciated though.

I think amazon payments allow you to use CC without fees to either party. Under $500 until you are verified. But too new and not popular because people not familiar with it. This us just my understanding of it, may be wrong. Anyone want to clarify?

Correct. From Chase:
Do I need to be a Chase customer?
No. As long as you have a valid e-mail address, you can create a Chase QuickPay profile to send and receive money. Simply register your Chase checking account or a checking or savings account you have with any other U.S. bank and send money to your recipient. We'll coordinate the direct transfer between banks—without any cost to you.

Note: If you’re using a non-Chase checking account for Chase QuickPay, you won’t be able to accept payments from other users who also want to send and receive funds using non-Chase accounts. At least one of the accounts in the requested payment (either the sender or the recipient) must be a Chase checking account.

It is not "credit card friendly". It is just a wire transfer from a bank account to another. It is better than PP gift because it doesn't fall in the gray zone of PP in which I don't declare a transaction but rather you send me a cash gift and I send you a lens for free. This is a straight forward bank transaction, without any protection to the buyer or seller and should only be used with trustworthy members.
