Shot these last night. No flash. It's a small high school with bad light.still able to get some decent shutter speeds with 200 1.8 @1600. Other than cropping, the images are not editted. Had white balance on auto. Do you think I should have done something different?
Thanks Bruce

Very very slighty blur...Did you have the IS on on the 70-200MM 2.8? If you didn't, I would raise the Shutter up one step and still keep the IS on for safety., I think on the 20D, it's 1/220 the next step from 1/200...I would have it on 1/220 ISO 1600 Set on 2.8, 70-200MM ON IS. If you using the 580 EX, set it on ETTL, ISO 1600 70-200MM 3.2..... I would use the 20d since it has less grain that the Mark II at high noise levels.

This is going to be a stupid question... but you didn't happen to be hand holding while shooting were ya? The first one looks like blur due to shake.....

IS wouldnt help, it doesnt work for moving subjects.

I think the first one could use a tighter crop, wihtout the half body on the right side.

The second one, its a shame the head was partialy cut off other wise it would have been nice. Looks like the poor kid took a knee to the face. heh

Thanks for the reply. I shot this with 200 1.8 lens on a 1D MarkIIn body with a monopod. I left the ball in the image but do you think it is really important? Why is the noise at high iso less on the 20d than the 1D Mark IIn?
Thanks Bruce
