I had a Vagabond II originally, but I sold it to get the mini. I have a location shoot next week and my mini won't arrive in time. What can I safely use to power two AB800's? I heard you can rent a generator from Lowes/Home Depot, but I'm not sure what is safe to use. Can anyone give me some advice?

Thanks!

You need a generator that is capable of generating a true sine wave, sometimes called pure sine wave. Some generators clip the sine wave and bees will not work with this type of power. The amount of power you will need is somewhat dependent on how many lights you will be running at the time. Call PCB if you are uncertain about the power requirements.

Call PCB and explain your situation. Have them fed ex your VML. What you pay for a rental, you can pay towards expedited shipping and have yours.

Generator with 1000 watts per light is recommended by PCB. See the last question on the FAQ page listed below.
