LR3 and CS5 should use the same Adobe Camera Raw (if they are both kept up to date) so it must be down to settings being applied in LR.

Post an example?

Also, compare the images at 1:1 view.

Can't post images as I'm on the road for work and on the iPhone, yeah I always deal with noise at 1:1 otherwise as you know it does not display true noise.
It's almost like LR throws a bunch of fill light and sharpening in there.

As one would expect, once I'm home and able to post images I'll show you, it's like a preset is thrown in on import but yet none are used.

Well then, we'll have to wait until you get home, since we can't discuss what we can't see:)!
