Here was my attempt.... added a new layer with Diffused Glow and Gaussian Blur and then dropped the layer down to around 15%...added a new layer and used black at around 15% to add some shadows to frame subject. Used clone and eraser to fix her mouth..take away that "biting the tongue" thing she had, and whitened teeth a tad bit.

Second one is ran thru Virtual Painter... and then combined the two by layering them and erasing at 40% until desired amount of original shown thru. :)

Hope you like :D

The middle one is exactly what I was thinking..just didn't know how to do it..I almost broke out the airbrush to try it out...:p

Good job!

My attempt with the colour shot, I think your original is a nice shot well done.

with this I decided to crop it and rotate it slightly in doing so the eyes are now higher in the frame and also no longer horizontal, introducing some nice angles in my view.
I had to clone back some areas at the corners lost in cropping.
I then took out all the colour and painted back where I thought, I use a action for this called "Paint back colour"

Cheers

Man, what a gold mine. You guys are outdoing yourselves. Anyone wanna password to the 200 picks to work over the originals ;) (haha).

Seriously; my imagination was all about color and tone, but this slight rotation and crop changes everything. Really really like it. Removing color, adding back what you want. Man, if I figure out half of what you did I'll be happening on this project. Be giving them an art book rather than a simple photo album.

I wish I had some links to share :( Maybe someone else has some :) But, if you ever have any questions.. I'm but an IM or email away ;) I will always do what I can to help out a fellow artist/photographer :)

Thanks for the great reworks and ideas too.

Oh sure, now I have to pick. But first I'll need to figure out how to duplicate some of this stuff.

Guess the learning has to start somewhere. Better go read an intro to Layering and stop putting that one off.

Your sentence above, I thought was a real nice touch.
I think this forum is all about helping others,
or even pointing them in the right direction at times, just so much info on here, and its good to share.

I liked what you did with the pics and I just took then on another stage.

Thanks for your comments, the image is down to you and its a good one to start with, now thats half the battle.
if the quallity ain't there in the begining , use a different one.
on this forum there are so many great photographers in my view, and also so many others trying to get the best from there hobby or profession.
not all view or see an image the same way, ( fortunately) in the end its your choice how you print or display / how you crop / how you compose etc.
don't forget you can rotate the crop tool ,hit the enter key, if you don't like. edit undo.
still to this day the best way to see the crop is make yourself to " L " shapes from card and simply lay them over the image or screen.
always be aware of the amount you discard from your digital files. as theres only so much we can afford to lose. over enthusiastic crop means the quality suffers.

Cheers
Martin
