Lack of Quality Control on Canon Refurbished Lenses

Why would they paint a red mark? It's not as if it wouldn't have Canon parts in it.

Because they don't want people selling refurbished items as new at any point in time nor in any shape or form.

i just got mine today! it looks brand new first happy thing. testing seemed perfectly fine to me although i am a first time L owner im not too sure what to really. not sure if the quality of the image is superb either :P

My refurb 85L did not have no mark on the mount ring. Looked like any other 85L.
