Did a test run with the Canon Elph 300 which also shoots full HD video.

Please make sure to watch in 1080p for true HD quality. Put a waterproof casing on and mounting cup and you won't have to get a GoPro camera, which only shoots stills at 5 megapixels. Music composed on a iPad with Garage Band.

How big was the file for that video?

I just got the ELPH 300 yesterday but I have not purchased a memory card yet. I am not sure if I need a 16GB or whether 8GB will suffice.

I have a 8GB card in the camera. All the footage I shot totaled 11GB. What I did find out was it uses a lot of battery power. I always have two batteries with all my cameras, thinking about buying a third for the Elph 300. Tomorrow I will do a test to see how long the batteries actually last using video only.

I see you own the Canon 7D and T1 that both shoot in RAW. For me the Elph 300 pocket camera is for family and when I don't want to get the 7D out. Peace

I shot 70 minutes of 1080p video on one battery. That was with a 760 mah battery. Ordered a 1400 mah so we will test that one later in the week.

Where did you get the 1400 battery? Is it the same size?

The only one I see for sale is the Canon 760 (for 40 bucks!)

I have this camera, i bought it partly because i was hoping that it would make good videos in dim light, it doesn't. It make sharp videos in daylight, so its's a shame. I am a bit angry on Canon for this:

THanks for this video. I've really been considering it and am impressed with all it packs into the small housing. As to this video however, I take it this was filmed in 1080? That means 24 fps? Maybe its just me, but it almost looks like it is dropping frames. Am I seeing things?

Hi guys, this is my first post here. I own an Elph 300 (ixus 220 is what they call it here) and I`d like to know if the small rattling/ rubber streching sound it makes at maximum zoom while filming is normal or not. It only happens when filming, while taking photos all I can hear is regular zooming noise.
Yours does the same? Thanks.
