Nice textures on this. Like the blue light on the concrete and the exposure looking through the window.
Did you do something to the pillar wall to the right-center?....looks like lower contrast to the rest.

It's slightly out of focus. Focus was on the pile of tires center frame. Also, no window behind the camera to illuminate the pillar and there was lens flare from the battery tester.

I like the shot, especially the light on the spray bottles. I've thought about doing something similar but haven't had the opportunity.

You might try making a duplicate layer of the image and increasing contrast on it. Then create a mask to hide that layer. Then you could paint out the mask over the column to reveal the more contrasty layer there. Here's a quick example of what I mean. I increased contrast using the unsharp mask filter.

Much better on the pillar, thanks. I have Elements but I think there's a workaround for layer masks using a linked adjustment layer. I've got a tutorial somewhere in my Bookmarks. I'll have to look it up.

Very cool pic.. What did you use for the HDR processing? I know that some people dont like it when it looks kind of "not real" but I do like them.. This would be a very cool poster in my shop...

You got it Gene....it isn't focus or lighting....it's contrast.

What did you use for the HDR processing?

Photomatix 4 with a variation of the Painterly Preset (toned it down somewhat). 18 exposures from 15 seconds @ f/8 to 1/8000, ISO 400, one stop intervals (overkill).

Yep. Did the faux layer mask in Elements. Painted over the pillar heavily and lightly over the remaining image but used a sharpened layer rather than contrast.

Intriguing shot and processing, Vulture.
Good idea, Gene.
