I think they look pretty good. The frog is too centered...makes for a very "static" image (might work for a science or biology book, but not so good from a photographic standpoint). In comparison, OTOH, even though the subjects are fairly centered in the other two images, the compositional elements lend themselves well to keeping the viewer's attention. Nice and crisp, good detail and the right amount of DOF.

Nice work.

#3 is already a huge crop.. anymore would be too grainy

I like them but agree that there should be more space in front of the frog. For image #3, I think it could use some contrast. I hope you don't mind, but I did a quick edit to show you what I mean. I think that would help bring out more detail. I also did a little sharpening.

Sorry for not replying sooner. I just noticed that you asked how I did my edit.

This was done using CS5.

I used the unsharp mask adjustment to add contrast on your image. Try "Filter>Sharpen>Unsharp mask" at these settings to start:

Amount: 30%
Radius: 100 pixels
Threshold: 2 levels

Then you could add a curves adjustment layer and try these settings:

Output: 111
Input: 133

Just pull down on the diagonal line from the center until you're close to those numbers or just type them in.

Finally, I used the "Smart Sharpen" tool to add a little sharpness. Try "Filter>Sharpen>Smart Sharpen" at these settings:

Amount: 26%
Radius: 0.7 px

I hope that helps.
