The Smithsonian On Demand (if you have it) currently has available the Maine By Air choice, as well as Oregon and South Carolina. Each is about 45 minutes and very informative. The more popular a park becomes, the more likely it'll be "loved to death", like Yosemite. So true. I went to Yosemite for the first this year and was amazed at how much of a zoo it was (people-wise). Granted, I went in June, which is probably the busiest time of the year, but still. I prefer Death Valley in February. Steve -- Website

Last year we went to Arches, Zion and Yellowstone; this summer we enjoyed amazing waterfalls at Yosemite and in November, we will head to Death Valley. Plus we only live 35 miles from Sequoia Nat'l Park where the Giant Redwoods are awesome every time we head up the mountain. Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

We got up at 4:30 every morning and made the trek to some part of the park and was shooting sunrise by 6:15. Nothing like morning light in Death Valley. Great way to see the best spots in the park too. Make sure to do your scouting or ask around. Rhyolite is in the next valley East and the Eureka Dunes is north near Scotty's castle.
