60D - AV Mode Forcing Too Fast Shutter Speed

Hi all,

I'm shooting with a fairly new 60D. In AV mode, no matter what the aperture it forces the shutter speed to be very fast making too dark photos. For example, in bright sunlight it was forcing a shutter speed of 3000.

I've read a flash setting can cause the AV mode to force a too slow setting, but I seem to be having the opposite problem.

In manual mode, I can set the settings for proper light and the photo comes out fine...

Help?

Do you have exposure compensation all the way to the left? IE. that light meter in Av should be near the middle or to the right, is it to the left?

Do you have any exposure compensation dialed in?

Hmm. I'll try messing with that. I might have locked to the left. Thanks
