I am looking at these cameras wondering what is functionally different in the features.

I know that two of the three have swivel lcds and all have video and the flash sync and weight (build construction) are different but outside of those things i am having a hard time seeing much of a difference, maybe i am just missing it but looking at BH the specs seem very similar.

maybe someone can help me understand a little more the difference and is it worth the extra few hundred to pick up the 60d verses the other two.

thanks for any input!

may not help you much but,if you're the kind that loves saving a buck more, then you'll be happy with the T2i or T3i. if you're the kind that later asks yourself," why didn't i just spend a bit more?" then get the 60D.

i had the T3i for a few days, then i went to the 60D. i saw more picture i liked in the 60D thread and i wanted to know the camera i got is the camera that can take the kinds of pictures i like. not saying, the picture for either camera models are better than the other or for that matter better than the other models also available.

i did search and i only came up with 2 or 3 threads that didn't hit on what i was after! and google puts up way to much most of the reviews i looked at were by people who had never really used either and could just read the differences! but i guess it is way to much to ask for personal opinions on the matter from people who might have actually owned and used these :)

thanks for the input! i'll definitely check out those threads, it didn't really click to look in the users unit threads and compare pictures! thanks for that idea.

I had the same 3 crop camera dilemma, eventually went for the cost savings as the features the 60D offered over the T2i were not enough for me to pay the extra $$. I spent the money I saved on a lens the 60mm macro which I love. No regrets at all for me, although camera bodies are somewhat of a personal thing. As for image quality all 3 bodies should produce nearly identical images, the quality of the lens and your ability are more of a factor.

that is just what i was looking at it seems that the differences are slight between the t2i and t3i as compared to the 60d, i gotta figure out do i really need shutter speeds of 1/8000 or will 1/4000 be sufficient, also will viewfinder magnification be a deal breaker (x.87, x.85, x.95) also do i really need a tilt/swivel screen? and flash sync of 1/200 vs 1/250.

are these options worth $200 or $300 more? will i really lose that much if i don't go with the 60d?

While looking at the tech specs differences is worthwhile, don't forget the UI differences between the 60D and the Rebels.

What camera are you currently shooting with? Some people prefer the smaller size and heft of the Rebels over the xxD series. Granted, the 60D kind of lessens that gap compared to the previous models, but there still is a difference. The best thing you could do is to find a brick and mortar that carries both and go handle them in person.

Between the 2 you had, which did you prefer size wise, and controls?

For me it was simply that the 60D felt better in my rather large paws.
Ti’-series bodies are too small and feel like children’s toys
