French River Falls - North Shore Waterfall

Hi everyone -

I snuck out of the house last night right before sunset and took off to a couple of nearby waterfalls to get my photographic fix for the week. The first image Ive processed is the French River Falls area. In my haste, I left my CPL on my desk and as a result the reflections on the water are driving me nuts - probably more than they should but I was not happy about leaving the filter behind.

Ill add more as I process them and as always, CC welcome.

Edit: I am getting more forgetful every day it seems...just noticed I forgot to add USM to this before I saved the JPG...uhhhg...

I think I like it better with the top 15% of the image cropped off. It not only reduces the amount of overexposed sky, but it steers more focus to the waterfall and run-off. I like the motion in the stream from your long exposure.

Ill give that a shot at home - but those big trees really added to the experience of being there and thats why I kept them in despite my doubts about the blown sky as you've mentioned, but maybe its not worth it to keep them if it means having the sky that way. Either way, Ill give it a try.
