Im sorry I buy everything for myself and my parents havent spent a dime on me in 8 years. (minus food, school, transportation to and from school and the obvious living expenses.) Your list of minuses is likely about $5000/yr for the typical North American lifestyle. Teenagers are awesomely naive. Taylor

I find your comment rude and without knowing me you would have no clue. Also, I love the 17-40 for the quality of the images and the focal length it provides as well as the build quality, otherwise I would get a cheap lens. I like to spend my hard earned money on things that will last. L lenses have been known to last MANY years. you are telling me you bought that volvo (from your post history) from your part-earnings? I have considered it, Its something to sleep on for sure. but logically I would lose the length of the 70-200, or lose the low light capability of the 30mm 1.4 Gear List

I had a job for 2 years which was in the public library in the children's section. anyone who LOVES that job is a saint. I volunteer at the local library, shelving books and tutoring kids who need help with reading. Trust me, that job isn't bad. I've had jobs that were much worse than that. I'll give you some examples; cleaning up dairy barns after milking the cows; installing tubes in big boilers, janitor in a chemical factory and walking around the jungle and getting injured. These are bad jobs. Libraries are clean, well lit, comfortable and usually a safe work place. Be thankful you found a job with those qualities.
