Just curious how much others have spent on your hobby so far.

Hobbyists = those who don't make money off photography

For me:
15-85mm IS USM 3.5-5.6
55-250mm IS 3.5-5.6
85mm 1.8 USM
35mm 2.0
50mm 1.8

Twist: Post how long have you been in photography

Canon 60D | Canon 15-85 IS USM | Sigma 30mm 1.4 HSM | Canon 135mm F2L | Canon 70-200mm F4L IS | Canon 430EX II | Panasonic GF3 | Pansonic 20mm 1.7 | Panasonic 14-42mm OIS

I think you will find that hobbyist spend as much if not more on camera gear than many pros. Something to do with; if I only had this or that I could do so much better. Not true but it help justify buying new gear every year.:o:lol:

My lens list:
Canon 17-85mm
Canon 17-55mm f2.8 (wife's)
Canon 24-105L f4
Canon 10-22mm
Canon 50mm f1.8
Canon 55-250mm
Canon 70-300mm (not the L)
Canon 18-55mm IS (came with the camera)
These lenses get used between the wife's T1i and my 7D.

Remember, Stressed spelled backward is Desserts.:)
Suggestions welcome.
Sony A7rIV, Sigma 24-70 f2.8, Sigma, 14-24 f2.8, Sony 100-400G, Godox V860II

I started in the late 60s with a Minolta SRT-101, followed by a used Canon F-1 in the mid-70s (a lot of money in those days for a student). Photography remains a hobby, not a profession for me. Today I still have my aging 40D, and I lent my 17-85 to my sister-in-law. That leaves:

24-105L (walk around)
Sigma 30 (great low light prime)
85 f1.8 (perfect for dog agiilty)
200 f2.8L (Stunning bokeh -- incredible lens)
70-300L (just love this lens -- my favorite)
Kenko Pro300 DGX 1.4x (works with 70-300L and 200L)
430EX II (perfect flash for my need)

Last need (yeah right) is probably UWA, maybe 10-22

Tokina 12-24 f4
Tamron 28-75 f2.8
Canon 70-200 f4 IS
Canon 60 macro
Canon 85 f1.8
580 EX II

and a 40D.
I also have a Canon 55-250 that I keep for vacations/hiking, etc., and that I couldn't bring myself to sell when I got the 70-200. It's a terrific little lens, never lets me down.

I have a capable little group of lenses to support me.
Order by favorite-ness. (Yay Favoritism!)
1. 85mm 1.8
2. 17-50 non-vc 2.8
3. 100mm 2.8
4. 50mm 1.4
5. Nifty tufity

Of course, I like all my lenses a lot. Or they'd be sold by now.
I typically buy used. My guess for total spent would be ~$2000-$3000. Around that range.

-Canon T2i- -Tammy 17-50 non-VC- -50 f1.4- -100 f2.8 macro- -85 f1.8-

I need to add an 85 prime in there at some point, probably the Sigma 1.4, then I'm done.
