I had a parent that wanted me to do a poster of their child, so I did. They are very happy with the print, but I am looking for some constructive criticism from people who have experience in this area. Is there anything I should do differently next time, or maybe something I should keep an eye out for? BTW, I know the player is looking down, but the customer chose the photo.

I love it. What's that texture behind it? Just some rock? I did something similar for my little brother, but it was a lot busier. I like how simple yours is. I think that's a great choice of photo too.

Here's the one of my little brother in case you want other ideas: (note, the print actually came out better, because the grey background was darker so the texture border wasn't as stark, and also the blending on the eges of the photos came out a lot smoother)

I painted the texture in piece by piece with a bricks and cracks brush set. Then overlayed it on the blue backdrop. I know what you mean about the printing. This looked way better too. The colors just seemed bolder for some reason.

Mind if I ask where you got that brush set from?

I did it in GIMP, not sure if that will matter for you.
I honestly don't remember, but I did a quick search and got these.

Not sure if it the exact set, but it is at least close.
