I've never seen a fly like this before. I assume it's a type of hover fly, but I can't see any like it in my book.

He's very spiffy looking in his two color coat Pete. Never seen one though, so can't help with the ID.

Thanks Brian. I guess it was a decent capture for a G9 in macro mode! :D

I've never noticed one of these before, but I expect that I'll start seeing them all over the place now.
