Oooops, I put this in the wrong forum. Please move it to the Landscape forum.
Some friends and I went for a 13 mile hike on the Pacific Crest Trail last weekend.
We hiked in from the Echo lakes to Lake Aloha in the Desolation wilderness west of Lake Tahoe.
The sky was fairly boring in the morning, but there was a good promise of some moisture moving in in the afternoon, so that is when most of these shots were taken.
Looking down on Upper and Lower Echo Lakes. Upper is in the foreground.
Even though it was July 30th, we still had some snow to deal with.
Actually, quite a bit of snow!
But, not everything was snow.
Ultimately, it was worth the hike. This is just a small corner of Lake Aloha. What you see in this image is less than 10% of the lake. Notice that you can't see the high water marks. It is at the high point right now!
We even took the time to have a little rock skipping contest.
This last image is of Ralston Pk. We passed this on the way. Climbing that bad boy is a whole 'nother story.
