Despite its abundance here it is a very rare plant with a quite limited distribution. This area was burnt black on 10 September and this is its regrowth. Cycads are ancient plants, way more common when dinosaurs roamed the earth. As one of my tourists today remarked, walking through here was like being on another planet.
