modest as ROy had said to YOU, modest means beibg humble, yes we can see that you are a hard core shooter but you dont have to BRAG about it, it must show in your shots and not come out of your mouth. we may be not as talented as you are but hey were all on the same joint, were enjoying a common passion.

I am not talented guy, but sorry to say that, when we don't have something that others have then i feel what they are doing or wasting? they will miss a lot, believe it or not, here are many talented friends i saw and all of them with no doubt saying they wish to live in Europe or Canada or USA, i asked them why? they told me that there is everything any photographer need, so that i said that you have everything any photographer need to be a great photographer, you have Snow that you hate, come here and see what the SUN did to our country that many of us want to live somewhere else.

Tareq - you can't say that a country has everything a photographer needs to be a great photographer. A photographer needs talent. Many of the great photographers come from relatively unpicturesque countries - that has nothing to do with it. Have their never been any great photographers from the UAE?

What it seemed as though you were saying was that, if you have the right surroundings, you would 'so talented and advanced photographer'

Do you know any great or master photographer from UAE?
to be honest, i don't know any arabic Master photographer, and if available mostly he is living there in the West, so if you know someone please link me to him and see what he did.

Sure, how can you do sports if you never have sports around? how can you do landscapes if you can't find that landscapes you want? we don't have Elephants and Giraffe and tigers, so how can i take those wildlife photos then?

That one looks like it's painted. Nicely done :)

Thanks, Warrior

"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I can see why they are two of your favourites Stefan. I think they're great shots! Where was the second one taken by the way?.....Hawaiin Islands maybe?

The first one is stunning, but I'm not sure about the second. Is it a composite image?

The reason I think it may be a composite image (nothing wrong in that) is that the outline of the hill/rocks in the foreground seem too sharply delineated and appear somewhat unnatural.

Thanks guys, yeah it's the Hawaiian Island of Kaua'i. I did a bit of sharpening in Lightroom, but besides that and a bit of colour correction, it's pretty much straight out of the camera.

Random info: The first was taken with a 4MP Canon a520 point and shoot. Got lucky I guess.
