Hey guys, just picked up a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod and a Manfrotto 324RC2 joystick grip head. I decided to go with the joystick grip because it gave me a false sense of security with being able to adjust my 5dii that i wasnt going to accidentally release a lever and have my camera fall face forward without me supporting it...

just wondering if anyone has used this setup and their thoughts on it. It's my first serious tripod setup, wish i could have afforded the CF setup but it was just too far out of my budget for the time being. I'm thinking about possibly returning the head and going with a ball head or something a little better but i'm not sure, i havent given it enough use yet to really form a solid opinion

I have tried several grip type Manfrotto heads and don't like any of them. I am quite satisfied with my 488RC2 ball head for general-purpose work and would suggest the 498RC2 for someone buying new equipment today.
