Not showing on the pix, but especially at the back, behind the rear glass, some massive pieces of dust particles, some at the front. No way to take them out without taking the lens apart. The lens is about 3-years old and still works fine and it's sharp and has good focus. What to do with it?
Btw, I am currently in Europe, but going back to Canada in a few months, where I could send it in.

Has anyone done this before and had any dust issues with the 17-50?!

No issues for my Tamron 17-50. Been using also for about 3 years. Using almost everywhere but not in a dusty environment. Regular place only like home, parties and travel :)

How does that help the OP?

Front element should be easy - remove the front ring, remove a few screws and the front element comes out - clean, put back in original position/orientation. I've never pulled the rear of a Tamron apart though, but I do wonder whether just removing the rear mount section would at least allow a rocket blower to point in there and be somewhat effective.

do a search here - if it's in the front end just lift the plastic retaining ring hiding three screws, undo the screws and you can then lift out and clean beneath the outer lens - about 5 minutes! the outer glass only fits one way so you can't go wrong.

When I bought my Tammy 17-50, I knew there was going to be a tiny fiber inside the rear element. But I got it for a steal, so I bought it. Thanks to some dumb luck, while using it the fiber fell off to the side of the lens barrel. It makes me happy because even the littlest things on my glass annoys me. I know it's pointless. And IQ was still awesome.
So. Here's the point I'm trying to make. Don't fix anything that isn't broken. It can only get worse.
A mostly clean lens that works perfectly is preferred over a dustless broken one any day.
Unless the dust problem is REALLY that bad in the rear element, (front element dust means nothing.) and it's affecting your IQ, I'd do NOTHING.
Oh and no dust issues. Avoid working the zoom when the lens isn't attached to a camera. I heard that sucks in dust.

We have two lenses at Tamron right now being torn down and cleaned. Never had such a problem with other brands.

Thanks guys, as I said, the lens works fine and dust not showing on images, behind the front glass, only showing some small pieces, but a larger one is behind the rear glass. I got the lens, used, about 2 years ago and I love it, Sharp and light, oh and cheap too $$. Had a Sigma 17-70 prior to this and that one had no dust issues, but it was nowhere near as sharp as my Tammy. Not worried about the small dust particles, only about the larger one at the back glass. I use this lens all the time and wouldn't be willing to part from it for too long. I also wanted to install a CP filter on it, but the front ring is lose and wobbles. I tried to tighten the 3 screws, but no luck. Unfortunately the rocket blower does not remove any internal particles, unless we open the thing, which I would not attempt alone.
