The Michigan Central Station was a passenger railway terminal built in 1913, the tallest of its kind in the world at the time. After Amtrack stopped service in 1988, the station closed down and was left to deteriorate. Plans have been proposed to repurpose this beautiful space into anything from a hotel casino to Michigan State Police Headquarters. To my knowledge, I do not believe anything has been finalized to date.

About the picutre: After a late night dinner at the legendary Slow's BBQ restaurant in Detroit, we decided to cross the street to Michigan Central Station for a couple of night shots. It was around midnight and extremely dark out, so we implemented a three shot limit and were never more than 15 feet away from the car. All three of my shots worked out better than expected.

Three shot limit not more than 15 feet from the car...I'm thinking I you should get a window clip to hold the camera so you don't have to get out of the car! Was the shutter the only type of shot being heard there? Great shot nonetheless!

Well we were more joking about the restrictions. And yes, only the sound of shutters on this night.
