I would watch your backgrounds and be more picky. If you crop tighter a lot of the distractions (pop ups, spectators, uninvolved players that are watching, etc.) disappear. When I need to put up with poor backgrounds (like porta-potties) if possible I try to use the individual color selections CS5 to mute the background colors and I also use content aware to remove some objects or sometimesjust their shadow if thats' all that shows.
