I just got a call soliciting an ad space on the first tee of the local golf course. 20,000 people go through each year. It would be on a billboard on the first tee with other advertisers and each of us get a car licensed size ad space for $395 for two years. I'm debating on getting ad space there. The positives are higher end clients, 9 hole course so more movement through that particular hole, on site venue for weddings so those playing golf as members most likely will be getting married there (so it seems like I'm a "friend" of the course).

It seems pretty good but has anyone else done it?

I'm a golfer and I don't pay any attention to ads on the course, even during tournaments.

Golfed my whole life and can't say I ever look at those. And even if I did the liklihood of stopping to write down a number isn't very good. That being said, for that price even if you get 1 client in 2 years it was worth it.

The only course advertising/sponsorship I've ever done is on the drink cart.

Seriously

I passed on it. It would require for the people to write my info down. I figure a big billboard would be just as well if I wanted to do that type of advertising. I'll stick with word of mouth.
