Florida after Dark

Our local camera club had an after dark shoot last weekend. I got a couple of shots I like. All shot tripod mounted 5d MarkII and 70-200 F4 IS

they are exposed fine for a night shot and the compositions are technically fine also. but both images lack a clear subject it seems... cant really tell what your trying to convey. didnt mean to come off rude if i did, just trying to help :) always love shots like the second with great clouds and some lightning it seems in there.

DLitton I appreciate the comments. I wish the fireworks had been a little more prominent in the top photo and the lightning had been a little more centered in the bottom one, oh well..
