I have had the Sigma 50mm for sometime and sent it in for a calibration about 6 months ago (lens only for a 7D "data profile"). It helped to some degree, but I still get inconsistent focus at times. Sometimes I get great shots at f1.4, and other times, cannot get proper focus at f2.8. Its not a back or front focusing issue, its just inconsistent focus. When it locks focus correctly its brilliant, when it does not, it is very frustrating.

Has anyone sent in their 7D with the lens for calibration, and was it worth the effort, and was the payoff a consistent and reliable lens across the board?

Just curious if it is worth it or not...

Thanks!
