"Fireweed"

This panorama features the Yukon's Territorial flower in the lower and left hand corner. Photographed just several days ago overlooking a morning sunrise of the sun (rising in the north)

On the right hand side the Slave River Roaring Rapids Of The Drowned create a placid rumbling for miles around. After a spring rain fireweed shines brilliantly with the rising sun over the Slave River. A true northern sky - the sun appears to be rising in the north. Clouds sweep over the horizon, gingerly avoiding the sun's great intensity.

Very nice! Love the composition. My only suggestion would be to clone out the flare.

I'm running through my mind about the flare, I kind of like it. Thanks for the feedback.

Bigger, yes it looks amazing printed. :) It prints to a clean size of 60x24"

That is beautiful. Flare is a keeper, in my humble opinion.

I see no Aurora. Must be a mistake of a shot, Karl. ;)

It is good. I am in too minds about the flare too. But the more I look at it, the more I like it. Gives it a nice sense of a sunrise. Perhaps, it could just be my monitor, but a little extra flash fill for the foreground. Not much, but a tad would help out.

Karl, another beauty from you. This along with all the amazing photos on your Adventure (external link) website inspire and captivate me. I just wish you'd hurry up and capture imagery from all those "coming soon" regions as I can't wait to see those places! :)

I am with the others, keep the flare as is. Adds a nice touch. Good job Karl

In time, in time! It's quite a big place...nearly got most of the south slave, but the more I journey and look for new places, research the others...I find more to be shot around here. It's quite a massive place too! The park here alone is one of the largest in the world. There are many more to see and visit that are very few ventured too (most of the parks, aside from the WBNP and nahanni, get fewer than 500 visitors a year!).

Definitely not something to browse right through ;) don't want to go up in the high arctic and get eaten by a polar bear, I project 5-10 years for completion.

haha, I have extra skills in other areas. I agree, I cloned it out..then I undo it...then I redo it...then undo it... That's a good point about the flash, I'll have to try that out next time
